Did somebody say “SpongeBob in Minecraft”? You bet! And in your Minecraft worlds, to be specific. The new SpongeBob add-on* by Spark Universe and Nickelodeon is out today, which means we will finally be able to answer the pressing question: Will SpongeBob’s pants look even more square in the Overworld? There’s only one way to find out!
The SpongeBob add-on is here
Who lives in a pineapple in YOUR Minecraft world?
This add-on will add a few sponge-tastic components to your game: charming characters, quirky quests, Bikini Bottom builds, and plenty of chuckles. Install this pack to your own Minecraft worlds and chances are you will run into SpongeBob, Patrick, Squidward, Sandy, or one of the other residents of Bikini Bottom on your next walk around the block.
If you do, you better stop to say hello, because they all have quests for you involving all the goofy shenanigans you might expect. We’re talking jellyfish-catching, claims of secret recipe-stealing, and investigating the disappearance of a certain snail – all while facing fearsome foes like Plankton, DoodleBob, and the Flying Dutchman!
Complete these adventures, and you will unlock rewards like blueprints for iconic Bikini Bottom builds. With new whimsical blocks and familiar furniture from the show, you can either recreate Bikini Bottom block by block, give your own builds a subaquatic pineapple treatment, or help SpongeBob and his friends relocate their pads to new biomes. I’m sure Squidward would be welcomed with open arms tentacles by the glow squids! And if you decide to open the Krusty Krab in the Nether, I’ll race you there with one of the many vehicles included in the pack.
The SpongeBob add-on* is out at Minecraft Marketplace now! Hop on your boatmobile (or seahorse, if you prefer) and let’s introduce Bikini Bottom with all its residents to your favorite biomes, builds, and all those slimes you've been farming. It’ll be charming, it’ll be absurd, it’ll be the spongiest add-on ever!
*Requires the latest version of Minecraft: Bedrock Edition (sold separately).
